MARIO MASSARELLI

My name is Mario Massarelli, I am 52 years old, and I have adopted Triathlon as my lifestyle for over ten years. I was born in Italy, but I currently live in Spain, and I fluently speak Italian, English, and Spanish.

Life has given me great professional satisfaction, first as a professional and years later as an entrepreneur. I had always aspired for continuous personal improvement. At the age of 42– after accumulating more than two decades of managerial experience in significant multinational operations across the globe with over 1000 employees worldwide– I completed my Executive MBA in London.

After reaching this professional pinnacle, I focused 100% on my Ironman journey.

Initially, I started training to get in better shape and lose a few kilos, but I immediately began to reap the health benefits. Right after my first race in 2016, I felt the thrill of becoming an Ironman finalist– and from that point on, I always tried to reach for more and constant improvement.

That first great accomplishment got me to fight for incredible results, unimaginable for my lifestyle when I started doing triathlons.

My passion for triathlons and the IronMan world has continued to grow, so much so, that I decided to leave my long career as a business executive for a multinational corporation to dedicate myself as IronMan and Triathlon professional coach full-time, after obtaining the title of "IronMan Certified Coach" at the prestigious IronMan University.

The proposed plans are all very well structured and complete. The differences are mainly focused on the level and frequency of communication between coach/athlete and on the increase in the level of support of the athlete throughout which involves adopting triathlon as a 360-degree lifestyle. In any case in the free Video Call we will be able to deepen together which is the most suitable program for your needs, characteristics and objectives.

Absolutely not, indeed the Triathlon will help you get back in shape in less time than you can imagine. Obviously, we will proceed step by step so as not to force your body and your joints too much at the beginning of the course to avoid any type of overload or injury.

Every week you will find your training plans in TrainingPeaks with the workouts planned in detail for each single day and the instructions to perform them at their best.

Usually from a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 18 months depending on your current level and the time you can devote to training. In any case in the first free Video Call already ‘I could’ give you a ‘much more’ precise idea based on the information about you that you will give me.

In LST we also follow step by step all those people who want to approach the Triathlon starting with the practice of a single sport.

Of course, many of our athletes who now regularly practice the full Triathlon, started only with the race (with the aim of making a race of 10km, a half marathon or a marathon), only with the bike (to run a large fund or conquer an important mountain peak) or only with swimming (for a race at sea or a crossing of some lake).

You can easily start by training and competing in the sport you prefer, and think about moving to Triathlon later. We have rates dedicated to those who want to start with just one sport, we can learn more about it during the free Video Call.

Easy! You notify me and I will prepare another training tailored to your needs for that day as soon as possible and, if necessary, I will also restructure the other workouts of the week. Otherwise, you will always have “emergency training” available for any eventuality.

Absolutely not. Of course you will have to learn to swim but I will advise you what kind of courses to do and for how long and in the meantime we will dedicate ourselves to increasing your performance in cycling and running.

Yes the part of strength and conditioning is very important for the balance of a triathlete and to avoid injuries. Depending on the plan you choose you will have a different type of guide and support on this part.

Absolutely not, you can safely run your first marathon during your first ironman. It’s a very common practice. During the free video call if you want we can also deepen this aspect.

I can tell you that no basic injury can stop you from becoming an ironman finisher. But clearly, this must be analyzed thoroughly and we can do it safely during the first free video call.
